- | Use a tape measure. Wrap the tape measure around your finger, note the measurement (in millimeters) and consult the Ancardi Ring Size Chart to determine your ring size. |
- | Download and print the Ancardi Ring Size Chart. (Note: Please ensure that "Page scaling" option is set to "None" in the dialog box of your printer options. The Ancardi Finger Chart must be printed on full-size standard letter paper. |
- | A diamond’s sparkle can be lost as this can cause dirt or grease to collect on the diamond. |
- | So clean your diamond regularly by soaking the diamond in an ammonia-based household cleaner (such as window cleaner) and use a soft, clean toothbrush to remove any dirt. |
- | If a sink is the only option for cleaning your jewellery, be sure to cover the sink drain to prevent your jewellery from going down the drain. |
- | We also advise to use a rubber sink mat to prevent jewellery from breaking or chipping if dropped. |
- | Chlorine (as in household bleach) or abrasives (such as household cleansers or toothpaste) should never be used when cleaning diamonds, especially those set in jewellery. |
- | These types of products can erode some of the metals often used in diamond settings, and they may loosen prongs or even dissolve the metal completely. |
- | Gems are not as hard as diamonds, and some can easily be scratched with a toothbrush. |
- | Be sure to check the best method for cleaning your particular gems. |
- | Fragile settings and older estate jewellery may not respond well to the scrubbing of a toothbrush, so use a soft touch. |
- | Diamonds settings aren’t secure and may work loose from their settings. |
- | While a home method is perfectly acceptable, it will be good to have your diamond cleaned periodically by a professionally trained jeweller at Ancardi. |
- | We can use one of two more thorough options for cleaning your diamond:
|
- | Treatment is any human controlled process used to improve diamond's appearance, which generally aim to improve apparent clarity or enhance or remove colour. |
- | The equipment at a retail store may not identify diamond treatment(s). |
- | Laboratory gemmologists with the proper equipment can detect such treatments, hence a lab report is helpful to ensure any treatment history. |
- | If the diamond is being treated, Ancardi will not advise for any cleaning service. Please refer to Terms and Conditions for details [Ancardi will not be liable for any damage caused to the jewellery, if we are uninformed about gem treatment(s).] |
