Gold jewellery can be cleaned at home by gently brushing with a soft toothbrush in mild soapy water. Washing up liquid is fine to use for this purpose. Rinse the item thoroughly in clean water and then dry with a soft lint free cloth.
Caution:
| - | Gold is resilient, however it is best to avoid exposure to harsh chemicals such as heavy chlorine, bleach and other strong cleaning liquids. |
| - | Alternatively there are special jewellery cleaning liquids that can be bought, but care should be taken to follow the directions carefully. If there are any stones or pearls in the setting, it is important to check the safety of using the liquid. |
| - | Keep jewellery individually in soft pouches or where it won’t get scratched by contact with other jewellery. |
